A lot of children come from very deprived backgrounds, where they have no strong role models. They have issues at home and they have no connection to their community.

Community outreach programmes try to make sure children have safe spaces, and the place to go they can call theirs. It is vital to ensure young people and children have an identity within their community and make sure they have somewhere a safe place to be, a trusted adult and ensure they have opportunities afforded to them that may not reach otherwise.
